This was my first purchase of HORNS. From front to cover I was impressed by the professional presentation and beauty of the magazine. Even in digital format. I found the pornographic features to be artfully done, maintaining the empowerment of sexual rite, while also presenting that aspect of sacred profanity.
This balance between the seriousness of occult and pagan subjects and the erotic and comedic aspects of sex is maintained throughout. For example the interview of Mat Auryn was well thought out and insightful, as too the feature on Buck Agrios, these alongside the humorous comics and lovely photo-shoots, provide a gorgeous balanced magazine that is much needed within both the gay and pagan/occult communities.

Way to go Horns! Each issue is an upgrade and this is no exception! Solid book and music reviews, hotter photography, wicked features… Everything a fledgling gay witch needs! Congrats on bringing it harder each issue! Can’t wait to see how you grow next!

It’s astonishing to find a magazine that explores the deep connections between the Occult and Queer identity and male-on-male sexuality and desire. HORNS delves into these links with fascinating articles, not to mention the sizzling photography. Gay sexuality is viewed by much of society as forbidden pleasure that should be kept hidden, much like the practice of Magickal Occult Crafts. Among my favorite features are the in-depth articles providing the rich history of prominent Occult practitioner from the past who were also openly Gay. These men, Like Harry Hay in this issue, who went against accepted love and sex and dared to uncover other mystical and spiritual paths, are to be not only admired, but must also remembered. I praise HORNS for including our important history in its issues. HORNS also gives interpretations on tarot and other esoteric symbolism and includes reviews on edgy, alternative music recordings. And did I mention the hot pics? There are lots of magazines that have nude and sexual pictures, but the ceremonial, ritual, ecstatic images you’ll find here are unlike any you will ever find anywhere else. And seriously, this is one erotic magazine where you will actually want to read the articles too. HORNS is a great way to indulge in your veiled, darker and naughty side. As one of my drag inspirations Mae West said: “When I’m good, I’m very good. But when I’m bad, I’m better!”

The cover alone made me want to buy it! HORNS has really progressed over the past few issues. The photos have become dirtier without losing their artistic edge. The word “occult” means hidden knowledge, and HORNS’ emphasis on reviewing undiscovered artists in our community demonstrates its sincerity in being where the Occultists cum. The balance between Witchcraft and Gay History is struck perfectly with a combination of education and exploration. In particular, the interview with Mat Auryn was very inspiring, highlighting some of the great talents of the gay occult world. Not to mention, the cartoons are absolutely stellar! At this rate, I can only imagine what the next issue will have in store. I can’t wait!
